Quantum Gymnastics is a gymnastics and dance school
in south central Nebraska specializing
in floor exercise and tumbling and offering instruction
in uneven bars, balance beam, vault and dance with an emphasis
in performance. A smaller enrollment
allows for more individual time
and attention to be offered to each student by the head coach. Students are involved in several performances
each year including annual
and semi-annual productions, basketball
game halftime shows, city celebrations and local area fund-raising
performances. Students range in age from 4 to 18 and
range in gymnastics ability from Levels 1 through 7. Dance forms taught are Modern, Ballet, Jazz and Tap.

HISTORY
Harlan County Dance Theater was opened
in Alma, Nebraska in 1990 where Kathy taught jazz, modern,
ballet, tap and gymnastics. Students were involved
in major productions each year, including full-length productions
of the Nutcracker including all of the traditional characteristics
of a true Nutcracker - a growing Christmas tree (to 21 feet),
a nutcracker prince which emerged from a cloud of smoke,
dancing dolls, soldiers, marionettes, court jesters, mice,
the terrible Mouse King, Heir Drosselmeyer, Fritz and of
course Clara.
Quantum Gymnastics was permanently established in Alma,
Nebraska in 1995. For seven years, Quantum competed
AAU levels 2 through 6 in floor exercise, balance beam,
uneven bars and vault while continuing to give
exhibitions and present full-length productions.
While Quantum has traditionally focused on competition and
performance, it now bases its curriculum on recreational
gymnastics, dance and performance. The incorporation of uneven
bars, balance beam, dance and vault into their performances
this year, should give their productions a unique twist
original to the area.
