experience provided for your child. As the coach of Quantum
Gymnastics, I promise to do everything possible to guarantee a rewarding,
self esteem-building and enjoyable experience for your gymnast in
a secure and comfortable atmosphere.
Coaching Experience
The coach of Quantum Gymnastics and Dance has 30 years of training and
coaching experience and has studied mechanics and education psychology at the collegiate level and in the gym. In
addition many standards and skill progressions have been set by
the United States Association of Gymnastics. There is a rationale
behind everything the coach teaches your child. All classes and
progressions are carefully planned and have been tested, analyzed
and modified for years by the best professionals in the
field.
Trust your coach
Parents
who feel a need to supervise classes, or to help the coach teach
his or her child appear not to have faith in the coach's experience,
training or teaching ability. As a parent, it is crucial that you
trust your child's coach. You are entrusting the physical safety
and emotional well-being of your child to her. If you do not trust
your coach, it is important that you find a coach you can trust.

Parents Are the Most Positive Influence in an Athlete's Training
“I want to be a part of my child’s gymnastics experience”
. . . is the most exciting thing a coach can hear!
You can do a great deal to speed your gymnast’s progress. By encouraging a gymnast in her successes and offering support when she encounters difficulties, her self-esteem will grow. Encouragement and supervision when she practices will reveal your support of her hard work and your regard for her safety. Asking questions of the coach concerning how your child should be doing skills will offer you a greater understanding of the coach's "plan" for your child's training. It will also serve as an example for the gymnast, inspiring "inquisitive thinking." : )

A parent’s encouragement and support will open the door to never-ending progress.
Throughout your gymnast's training, you will learn from them!
You will be fascinated by what experts they are!
TEN TIPS FROM QUANTUM for POSITIVE GYMNASTICS
Offer encouragement when a gymnast is “down” because they don’t yet have a skill it seems they've been working on forever. Some skills take time to learn.
Praise the gymnast’s positive achievements as there are many for each gymnast each and every workout!
Rather than pointing out or dwelling on the negative, accent the positive.
"Pushing" at the wrong time in a gymnast's development can serve as a distraction and hindrance to progress. A time for pressure is not while a gymnast is learning a new skill.
Excessive stress and "pushing" can increase effort and motivation in some gymnasts. It can crush motivation in others.
Encouragement and self-esteem building will bring success faster
and improve the quality of the experience for the gymnast.
Be proud of your gymnast for what they can do and offer
support for what they soon will be able to do.
Internally motivated gymnasts progress faster
than externally motivated gymnasts.
There is no such thing as a “good” or “bad” gymnast or a “good” or “bad” skill. Every gymnast is a learning and growing gymnast and each has "achievements" and "working goals."
There is no skill or feat that a gymnast cannot achieve or learn! Some skills require more time to master than others and no two gymnasts are alike. But all skills and physical feats can be learned by all gymnasts!
There are different approaches to learning the same skills, techniques and concepts. Some approaches work better for some gymnasts than they do for others . . . but some approaches work best for all.
Most important is that your gymnast is safe and enjoys her experience at Quantum!

Parents are
always welcome to stop in at the end of a class to check up on their
gymnast’s progress or may come and watch from time to
time. Students love to show their parents what they have accomplished.
As long as the safety rules are followed.
If you have any comments regarding the philosophy or regulations of Quantum,
feedback is welcome. The door to communication with the coach is always open!
