ANNOUNCEMENTS
AND EMAIL!
This website is where you will find most of
what you need to know with regard to gymnastics classes and activities
at Quantum Gymnastics and where you will find announcements from
the coach. Announcements Page:
here
Emails
will also be sent for school correspondence and individual
correspondence to you (including
account information and information pertaining to specific classes
only.) You are required to use email as a student/parent of
Quantum Gymnastics. You need to check it every 48 hours.
It is a good idea to check it the night before your class.
Visit
the Announcements page linked from
the home page, and also the Calendar
linked from all pages. The
Chalk
Board
. . . is your gymnast's message and information center.
I hope you enjoy the site and especially,
Have a fun year of gymnastics!
Email
Email
addresses are required of all students’ parents or legal
guardians. This is how you will receive communications that
are specific to you or your gymnast, including
information concerning leotard orders, individual class changes,
and account information.
If you
do not have access to the internet let me know. Or if you
have access to the internet but do not have email, I will
be happy to help you get started. : )

Observation
Because
of distraction, observation is discouraged!
An occasional visit from parents or dropping in for
the last 10 minutes of class is welcome.
Parents are asked not to coach their gymnasts during gymnastics
classes. It is distracting to the student and distracting
to the coach and dangerous to the athletes. (Also disrespectful.)
Please regard our gymnastics school as you would any other
school. (Parents don't go to school and help the teachers
teach class.) Students are asked not to bring friends to watch
class without first talking to Kathy. Only gymnasts
who are insured through Quantum are allowed to take part in
physical activity.

Attendance (and tuition)
Tuition
is the same each month regardless of attendance. I guarantee
that gymnasts are offered 36 classes for the 9-month fall-spring
session. They often receive more. I do not charge for
practices and rehearsals. Thirty-six classes over a
9 month period averages to 4 classes per monthly payment.
Kathy will arrange make-up classes for any canceled classes
or snow days if needed, and will also offer Open Gyms. You
can arrange with her to make-up any missed class by attending
another class.
Still don't understand?
I'll try to explain further.
There
are at least if not more than 36 class days for each weekday
on the calendar. Many months have 5 making up for the months
that have only 3 such as November and December. This would
allow us a few snow days. However, there will be activities
in the auditorium such as the Holiday Preview and the Rotary
Club Banquet in which we will be asked to cancel classes. Also
Kathy may have to miss several classes this year for
out of town conventions related to work. I know these are a
terrible inconveniences to you and to our gymnasts, but they
are conditions on which I must operate Quantum Gymnastics. Open Gyms
will be offered which may be used as make-up classes. There
will be extra practices before performances and no extra tuition
will be charged for these extra classes. You can keep track
of holidays, closings and activities on our Quantum calendar
on this website.
We all
know how difficult it can be for kids who miss workouts or
classes. I will do everything within my power to see that
work outs are available each week. Even two absences in a
short period of time can make it difficult for the gymnast
to “catch up” on what we covered while he/she
was absent. Quantum classes follow a set curriculum and new
things are taught each class period. Gymnasts are taught subject
material in the areas of skill training, mechanics, conditioning,
safety, dance, sportsmanship : ) and choreography. (not necessarily
in that order) I try to touch on new aspects of each issue
every class period. I cover as much in each class as I can,
and I like to think our program is progressive while staying
FUN.
Note: Gymnastics
classes are offered at Quantum on a “session to session”
basis.
As with any program,
factors can arise resulting in its discontinuation. Variables
always exist which are either beyond our control such as using a pubic facility, or which
result in an unavoidable change in priorities. At this time, I see no reason why our program
won't continue into the distant future.

schools are closed in Alma due to bad weather or roads, Quantum
